All too short a date

Well the wedding went brilliantly. No moths but abundant joy. Now back at the trap, and here's a smart but melancholic visitor: an Autumnal Rustic. One of the pleasures of watching moths on a regular basis is noting how their comings and goings reflect the seasons, way back to the Spring Usher and with the Winter Moth maybe to come. Penny starts choir rehearsals tonight, which is one of the signs of summer coming to a close in our domestic calendar, alas. So we and the Autumnal Rustic are as one. There is also an Autumnal Moth, a Small Autumnal Moth, an Autumnal Snout and an Autumn Green Carpet. Actually, Penny presciently said that 'Autumnal Rustic' reminded her of carpet catalogues. But I won't go on now, because one of the penalties of being away from work for a week is the clutter of undone things which ought to have been done. Awake, awake to love and work...

Lovely Autumnal Rustic, there's certainly a Scandanavian nip in the air now in the mornings!
